Race Report From Jacqy Stone for WTS #2
Had a great day Sunday. Beautiful weather. Got started on time. Two women from Birmingham truly made it a training session. Although there were not many of us, we had enough to practice single and double line pace lining, blocking and just general riding principles such as holding your line and not braking unnecessarily. Got me inspired to perhaps organize something up here next winter to dove tail in to theirs. (kind of like what was done several years ago). You know I am always up for a clinic. Pure fun. Heck, I’ll drive 8 hours for one. (Rock Hill, South Carolina). Sunday solidified the fact that the need and desire is out there. I meet a wonderful woman from north Tennessee, Martha Lowe. She and her husband drove 6 hours specifically for Sunday. She is new to racing, has already catted up to 3, but feels like she is still in need of learning so much. Even got to talk to Claire while she was down doing her run, while David was out racing. All in all, a wonderful day. (except for Ryan’s crash). I would strongly encourage anyone to head down for weekend three. Natalie, the TALL one in this photo, said that some of the other women from Birmingham will be there to run the session Sunday.
